Amazing toothpick sculpture

Scott Weaver took his schoolwork seriously. When, in 1977, his 5th grade teacher set their class a project to make a toothpick sculpture, he set about modelling the entire city of San Francisco. It took him over 30 years to complete.

Constructed of 100,000 toothpicks, this amazing sculpture is over 9ft tall and artistically depicts many of the Bay Area’s most famous sights. Just to make things interesting, Scott also incorporated tracks to allow ping pong balls to roll around the city. He loves the fact that he’s built “something that people will see later on that took a long time to build for no reason.” A true artist.

Ripley’s Believe It or Not museum offered Weaver $40,000 (£27,000) for his amazing creation. Needless to say, he turned it down.
