Thilo Frank’s Mirrored Room
If you thought the idea of the Mirrorcube hotel room in Sweden was amazing, perhaps Denmark should be your next stop; specifically the Museum of Modern Art in Aalborg, Denmark. Here is where you will find its newest installation, Thilo Frank’s Mirrored Room, and in there, you may find infinity.
There is an incongruity about a 4m x 4m x 8m room representing infinity, and that is not lost on Berliner Frank, whose work requires an intellectual engagement by the visitor.
“My work asks a visitor to question one’s relation to action in space and the consequences of one’s action – an intimate experience.” – Thilo Frank.
This piece of work, entitled ‘The Phoenix Is Closer Than It Appears’, features a swing where visitors can perch and observe themselves in suspended nonchalance, infinitely.
