First all-aerial movie

If you’re acquainted with Yann Arthus-Bertrand‘s amazing ‘Earth from Above’ photography series, you’ll be pleased to learn that he’s now made an amazing movie: Home.

Home is a film about the Earth, its beauty and how (as you know) we are ruining it. But if that devastating truth is getting you down, Arthus-Bertrand’s footage will lift you right back up, and revitalise your faith in what humans can achieve. The first film to be entirely shot from a helicopter – yet still completely carbon-offset – Home presents a view of over 50 countries, giving us a clear picture of what we’ve got to lose, while the narrative reveals the gravity of the environmental problem facing the human race.

A life-long environmental activist, as well as photographer, Arthus-Bertrand set out to make his first feature film after seeing the impact of Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth. ‘I saw how moved the audience was – to tears in some cases – and I said to myself that a feature film was an excellent way of reaching people,’ reports the Frenchman.

Indeed, he is so determined for the film to reach people that he and producer Luc Besson have decided to distribute it for free wherever possible. That means that you can watch the full movie in YouTube HD here! Enjoy!
