Amazing slow motion bike jumps

You are probably one of the 6 million people to have already observed the world’s first triple backflip on a BMX. Here it is in case you want to see it again:

New Zealander Jed Mildon set a brand new world record with the stunt, which had until now been deemed impossible by all but the clinically insane (of whom Mildon is clearly one).

It goes without saying that this an amazing feat, but it is over rather quickly – we feel that amazing stuff like this needs to be savoured. Thankfully, Red Bull were thinking the same thing, so they have filmed amazing bike jumps in super-slow-motion – 1000 frames per second, to be technical about it. Here’s Canadian freeride impresario Darren Berrecloth doing a Step-down 360 (well, it’s not a step, it’s a cliff):

Here’s downhill World Cup champion Gee Atherton, jumping off one cliff, then riding off down the face of another (or Step-down Gap to Wall-ride):
