Barefoot waterskiing, with helicopter
Mexican Fernando Reina Iglesias has smashed the world record for barefoot waterskiing, setting a speed of 153mph in his home town of Acapulco. It was easy – he just got towed by a helicopter.
It’s amazing stuff, but he only does this at the weekend. Monday to Friday, Reina Iglesias is a businessman and politician for the Partido Verde Ecologista (Green Party). Why don’t British politicians do things like this?
Reina Iglesias dedicated the record to his home town, which has been afflicted by drug cartel wars, despite being an otherwise attractive tourist destination.
The previous record for barefoot waterskiing was 135mph, set way back in 1989 by American skier Scott Pellaton.
